On July 16, the Embassy of the P. R. China in the Republic of Croatia held the launching ceremony of the third China-Croatia joint police patrol.Ambassador Mr. Qi Qianjin, Head of the Prevention Service at Police Administration Zagreb Mr. Velimir Tišma, all Chinese members of the joint police patrol in Croatia during the tourist season, and others, participated in the launching ceremony.
Ambassador Qi said that this year was the first time after two years that China and Croatia carried out joint police patrols in the tourist season; it was also the first time that the Chinese police went overseas to carry out joint patrol missions since the new coronavirus epidemic. The joint patrol activities could better serve Chinese citizens and overseas Chinese who come to Croatia for tourism and deepen the tourism cooperation between the two countries. Croatia was the first Central and Eastern European country to carry out joint police patrols with China. The close contacts between the two sides help promote the deepening and solid cooperation in the field of law enforcement and security between China and Croatia. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Croatia. Ambassador Qi expressed his belief that the resumption of the joint police patrol would further enhance mutual trust and friendship between the two countries, and promote the China-Croatia comprehensive cooperative partnership for new and greater development. The Chinese Embassy in Croatia would assist the Chinese joint patrol team to complete the mission successfully.
Mr. Velimir Tišma said that the joint police patrol during the tourist season is a key project of the Croatian police's international cooperation, which had played an important role in protecting and attracting foreign tourists since its launch in 2006. During the joint patrol, the Croatian and Chinese policemen would warmly and thoughtfully serve the Chinese tourists and overseas Chinese in Croatia, help solve their problems, and effectively enhance their sense of security while they travel and stay in Croatia.
The representative of the Chinese joint patrol team members said that all members of the team would work together with their Croatian colleagues to do their best to provide services for Chinese tourists and overseas Chinese in Croatia. At the same time, they plan to extensively visit Chinese-funded enterprises and overseas Chinese associations in Croatia to understand security needs and give them more information on preventing telecommunication and network frauds.
The eight Chinese police officers who had come to Croatia this time are from Guangdong, Fujian, Zhejiang, and Shandong provinces, respectively. They all have rich grass-roots work experience and law enforcement experience. They would be stationed in Zagreb, the capital of Croatia, Zadar, Plitvice National Park, and Dubrovnik. The joint police patrol would be carried out for one month.
