On September 2, the Chinese Ambassador to Croatia H. E. Mr. Qi Qianjin met with the Croatian Minister of Justice and Public Administration H. E. Mr. Ivan Malenica.

    Ambassador Qi said that in recent years, China-Croatia relations had maintained a good momentum of development, with strong political mutual trust. The successful implementation of landmark projects such as the Pelješac Bridge had contributed to the vigorous development of economic and trade cooperation between the two countries, and the two sides had also maintained close exchanges and cooperation in the judicial field. Recently, China and Croatia successfully launched the first joint police patrol after the epidemic, which sent a positive signal of deepening cooperation in judicial, law enforcement, and other fields. This year marked the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, and China-Croatia relations stand at a new starting point linking the past and the next. Ambassador Qi stated that the Chinese side is willing to make joint efforts with the Croatian side to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, continue to strengthen cooperation in such fields as counter-terrorism, fugitives, return of stolen assets, and combating transnational organized crime, to push the China-Croatia comprehensive cooperative partnership to a new level.

    Ambassador Qi said that the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China would be held in mid-October. China would continue to unswervingly follow the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics, continue to coordinate the promotion of comprehensively deepening reforms, comprehensively governing the country according to law, promoting world peace and development through its development, and promoting the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.

    Minister Malenica spoke positively of the achievements in the development of Croatia-China relations, saying that the successful opening of the Pelješac Bridge was not only of great significance to Croatia but also elevated the relationship between the two countries and the friendship between the two people to a new level. China is an influential power and it made remarkable achievements in legal system construction. The Croatian side had also continued to carry out judicial reforms since it joined the EU. He added that the Croatian side attached great importance to the development of cooperation with the Chinese side and was willing to further intensify bilateral exchanges and cooperation in the judicial field, especially in areas such as judicial digitization, to strengthen mutual learning, promote Croatia-China relations, to achieve new and greater development.
