On October 18, the Chinese Ambassador to Croatia H. E. Mr. Qi Qianjin met with Mr.Velibor Mačkić, the Economic Adviser to the President of Croatia.

Ambassador Qi gave a detailed introduction to the ongoing 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, especially the important report made by General Secretary Xi Jinping. He emphasized that this meeting was a very important meeting held by China at a critical moment when China was embarking on the journey of building a socialist modernized country in an all-around way and marching towards the second centenary goal.The meeting comprehensively summarized the major achievements and valuable experience in upholding and developing socialism with Chinese characteristics, analyzed the international and domestic situations in-depth, fully grasped the new requirements for the development of the party and the country in the new era and new journey, and the new expectations of the people, as well as formulated the action and state affairs program and policies for the next five years or even longer, continuing to actively promote the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.

Ambassador Qi emphasized that the central task of the Communist Party of China was to unite and lead the people of all ethnic groups in the country to build a powerful modern socialist country in an all-round way, fight to achieve the second centenary goal, and comprehensively promote the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation with Chinese-style modernization. China would always adhere to the basic state policy of opening up, firmly pursue a mutually beneficial and win-win strategy of opening up, continue to provide new opportunities for the world with China's new development, promote the building of an open world economy, and better benefit the people of all countries. This year marked the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Croatia. The Chinese side was willing to work with the Croatian side to strengthen dialogue and communication, jointly create development prospects, share growth opportunities, enhance the well-being of the two peoples, and promote the steady and long-term development of the China-Croatia comprehensive cooperative partnership.

Mr. Mačkić congratulated the successful convening of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, spoke highly of China's major achievements in economic and social development in recent years, and expressed appreciation for China's development and contribution to the world economy. He added that since the establishment of diplomatic relations 30 years ago, Croatia-China practical cooperation had achieved fruitful results, and the great success of the Peljesac Bridge and other projects had brought tangible benefits to the two peoples.Croatia was willing to seize the important opportunity of China's high-quality development, achieve greater economic and social development of its own, and push bilateral relations to a new level.
